Not a judge but an adjudicator in a construction case I was counsel in.  During the hearing we reached a settlement and after the case the adjudicator came over to me and said that he was delighted with the result as he had prayed for this result.  I asked him if he always prayed for a settlement.  He said that, yes, he did.  I asked him whether the parties always settled.  He said, no they did not.  I asked him why he therefore thought his prayers made any difference.  He replied, that the decision whether they did or not was God's alone and he believed our settlement must have been God's will.
