1. Description of this subscription

1.1 Subscribe to The Brief Premium on a rolling monthly contract on its own or as a bolt on to a Times subscription.

1.2 The Brief Premium includes the following benefits:

Full access to The Brief email, www.thetimesbrief.co.uk website and The Brief Premium membership benefits.

You acknowledge that www.thetimesbrief.co.uk is currently in beta version (“Beta Site”), which may at TNL’s discretion be transformed into a full and generally available version in future. TNL reserves the right to discontinue the Beta Site at any time and for any reason. If TNL discontinues the Beta Site then TNL reserves the right to immediately cancel your subscription by giving written notice to you and in such an event, TNL shall refund any pre-paid amount in respect of the unexpired portion of the Subscription on a pro-rata basis to You.

4. How do I become a subscriber?

4.1 To take up this offer, please visit www.thetimesbrief.co.uk or contact The Brief team at or thebriefpremium@the-times.co.uk.

4.2 This is an instant access service. By purchasing this subscription you agree your The Brief Premium digital access will start immediately.

5. How long is my subscription?

5.1. Your minimum subscription term will be 30 days from your subscription start date, which will be made known to you when you join.

5.2.Following your 14 day free trial period, your subscription to the Brief Premium will continue on a rolling monthly contract, unless you cancel in accordance with clause 7 below.

6. How much does subscription cost?

6.1 New customers subscribing to The Brief Premium only, receive 14 days without charge. Unless you cancel during the trial period, after the 14 day free trial period you will be charged £17.33. You will continue to be billed on a monthly basis at a cost of £17.33, unless you cancel.

6.2 New customers subscribing to The Brief Premium and The Times receive 14 days access The Brief Premium without charge. Unless you cancel during the trial period, after the 14 day free trial period you will be charged an additional £1 per week (£4.33 per month) on top of your Times subscription price.

6.3 Existing Times subscribers receive 14 days access The Brief Premium without charge. Unless you cancel during the trial period, after the 14 day free trial period you will be charged an additional £1 per week (£4.33 per month) on top of your current subscription price.

6.4 Payment can be made by all major credit or debit cards, direct debit or via PayPal. Where relevant, currency conversion values may fluctuate and conversion fees may be charged by your bank. Unless otherwise stated, the savings calculation stated is relevant to the specified pack and is either based upon saving made per week against cover price or against the standard rate (as may be applicable).

6.5 We reserve the right to change your subscription pack price and/or benefits with 30 days’ notice and affected subscribers may terminate their pack within this notice period.

7. How can I cancel my Brief Premium subscription?

7.1. If you wish to cancel your Brief Premium subscription at any time within the 14 day free trial period please contact The Brief team at thebriefpremium@the-times.co.uk. If you wish to cancel after the end of the 14 day free trial please contact The Brief team at thebriefpremium@the-times.co.uk at least 15 days before the end of your one month minimum term.

7.2. On cancellation of your subscription, all access to The Brief Premium services will stop.

8. What do I need (devices and hardware)

Access The Brief Premium via the website or to be able to access our mobile digital site, you will need one of the following:

Android supported smartphones and/or tablet devices (e.g. Nexus, HTC and Galaxy devices); or

Apple iOS supported smartphones and/or tablet devices (e.g. iPhone and iPad).

9. Changes to these terms

9.1.At any time, we may amend these terms to ensure that we remain compliant with relevant laws and regulations and to ensure that we are constantly improving your subscription experience. If we make any important changes to the subscription terms we will notify you.

9.2.You acknowledge and accept that you consent to us notifying you of any changes to our terms via electronic form (e.g. email).

10. What happens if I default on a payment?

10.1.If you default on any payment, we may take whatever action necessary to recover our losses, including:

10.1.1.Termination of your The Brief Premium subscription;

10.1.2.Charging you for any outstanding amount remaining on the unexpired portion of your one month minimum subscription term (subject to your subscription and/or offer terms); or

10.1.3.Sending your details to third party debt collectors.

10.2.If your The Brief Premium subscription has been terminated and you would like to re-subscribe, we have the right to pursue payment of any previously outstanding amount owed to us and your terms of subscription may change.

11. Anything else I should know

11.1 We may at any time and at our sole discretion, terminate your subscription with us.

11.3 We may screen your name and address against credit reference and fraud prevention databases when we decide whether or not to accept your application for subscription. By providing us with your details, you confirm that we may carry out these checks. If we do not accept your application for subscription, we will terminate your subscription and reimburse any payment that you have made.

11.4 If you are found to be abusing the terms of this offer, we have the right to suspend and/or terminate your The Brief Premium subscription and/or offer agreement with us.

11.7 The Times Standard Subscription Terms apply to all Times subscriptions and can be viewed at thetimes.co.uk.
